My partner and I recently moved to New York from Florida, and we are eager (desperate?) to find other LGBT families so that we can plug into a network, and most of all for our 7 year old daughter and 4 year old son. How do we join Center Kids, and what kind of programs do you offer? Is that where we would start to make connections?

First of all, welcome to New York! Contrary to uninformed opinion, it's a great place to raise kids! And yes, Center Kids is THE place to start â" so I'm glad you reached out to us. We offer monthly Family Play Dates â" usually here at the Center, sometimes off-site â" where families gather to meet, children have structured play activities, parents mingle, and food is provided. Go to the Center website's Calendar section, and click on Family for the up-to-date calendar of Center Kids events coming up, including Family Play Dates.
